Frank Kern Stacking the Cool …Honda Style

by TroyNotes on May 18, 2009

Part 5 of 5 from The Great Interview between Eben Pagan and Frank Kern up on Kern’s blog (about 50 minutes in)

This is paraphrased:

Eben Asks Frank: “given we have the Launch in just a few days, what should we do between them?”

Frank says: “Stack the Cool massively and use the Death Grip (If you know Mass Control, you already know this) to get server blowing traffic and complete sell outs.”

Example: “Say you are selling Honda cars, if they buy it, they also get a Lamborghini FREE, and then a day later… Wow, not only a Lamborghini but ALSO a FREE airplane, then later they see a surprise 0% financing, then UH- OH, the Honda users group of 1 Million just found out and will be storming the car office starting at 6am…you better get it now, because it will definitely sell out.”

Eben says: “…yeah but we are already close to blowing up our server right now. Thinking of scaling back already..”

Frank says: “Do it the Buddhist way, expect the server to blow up and use it in your dialog with your audience (as a pressure stacker+ social proof). I don’t know of a single launch that hasn’t blown up a server (except maybe Jeff Walkers latest).”

Hi Troy.
Thanks for paraphrasing part of the interview for us.
These notes of yours are helping people like me organize all the good stuff that I need to learn from these gurus. It prepares my mind and helps my brain avoid overloading.
I am looking forward to more of these.

I’ve never been to this blog before (found it on Google), but you sure do put all the jargon in a way is understandable and replicable.

I can’t believe that in the last 7 days I have reverse engineered the entire Mass Control process so that I can use it without forking over $2000 and watching endless hours of DVD.

I really appreciate the paraphrasing.

Hey Dan,

Thanks and congrats! That’s quite the accomplishment. There are so many good insights from the various gurus in the prelaunch content, I’ve heard it from Jeff Walker (who specializes in launches) that a student like you had enough information to get a launch done without buying the course.

Curious have you reversed engineered the Core Influence DVD? It really has had a dramatic impact on my life/niche selection, and I don’t think that’s covered in anything I’ve seen so far,

In Mass Control, most of the printed material is just transcripts of the DVD’s But there are some small tidbits here and there, which for a pro might be old hat but for a newbie marketer was eye opening. Anyway I’d be wary of saying that you have the whole picture. But I’ve very glad you’ve got enough to get you the most important parts.

There are also other benefits to purchasing from gurus when you can afford to do so. You get access to the invitation only events, where it’s possible to network with others, master minds etc, and find people to joint venture with. Member only offers, which can save thousands on common things, and early access.

Rock on!

I’ve certainly heard of Core Influence, but I haven’t been exposed to enough of the author’s tidbits and extra insights to understand it.

While Frank Kern is highly reputable he has saturated the internet marketing community with so many bonuses and “free stuff” (which if you write an ebook you will know usually stems from your core content) that if you put all the e-mail together, and google his “stacking the cool” and other terms (I think ‘death grip’ was mentioned here) you can find out exactly what they are.

You’re right, I’m sure the DVDs bring it all together. I actually recently signed up for one of his first business email lists (I get e-mail from a Tellman something) and the e-mails are so incredible I’m using them as a template for my own business.

Your site does a lot like what I have done. Not to the extent of an entire ‘guru’s’ works…but it does explore different parts of these guys’ content – there may be more, I haven’t read your entire site.
